Late summer is traditionally the off-season for theater, and East County is no exception. While most local stages lie dormant, our talent is still hard at work. Madge Montgomery of the Lafayette Community Players takes on Arthur Miller’s classic, Death of a Salesman. If you didn’t catch the end-of-July weekend at Lafayette’s Mary Miller Theater, you’ll have to make a trip to Denver. There, in the newly christened John Hand Theater, Montgomery will direct members of the Denver Repertory Theatre Company. The DRTC cast includes a few LCP regulars, like board members Jackie Tisinai (doubling as costume designer) and Ed Schoenradt. Tackling one of the all-time great scripts in American theatre is a formidable challenge, but Montgomery’s cast, led by Denver’s rising star Timothy Englert as Willie Loman, is up to the task. The production runs Friday-Sunday evenings throughout August at 7:30pm, 6pm on Sundays. Call 720.209.2154 or book your tickets online at www.lcptheater.org. |
